Member Spotlight: Rebeca Mellado

Allow us to introduce you to Rebeca Mellado, a fourth-semester biomedical engineering student, and research assistant in the Neurohumanities LAB project. Rebeca is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from tracked movement using Mediapipe and adapted Python coding scripts. Her goal is to improve educational processes by utilizing biometrics, and she is excelling in her work so far.
Alongside her contributions to the Neurohumanities LAB project, Rebeca is passionate about addressing the chess gender gap in Mexico. She is conducting research on the topic and plans to collaborate with the national chess federation to establish guidelines that promote gender equity in the sport. We’re impressed by Rebeca’s dedication and drive, and we can’t wait to see where her work takes her in the future!
