PROFILE

Christopher Blais is an assistant research professor in the Arizona State Univeristy Department of Psychology whose research focuses on cognitive control. It is difficult to imagine what life would be like without the ability to regulate behavior in many areas of life. The majority of research investigating the self-regulation of one’s goals and actions—or cognitive control—focuses on the more deliberate aspects of control such as rule use and strategy implementation. This important work misses those facets of cognitive control that operate below the level of awareness. His research aims to examine these understudied implicit mechanisms of cognitive control. Blais directs the EEG lab in the Psychology department.
