PROFILE

Baoxin Li is a professor in Computer Science & Engineering(CSE), for which he served as the chair from 2016 to early 2022, leading the phenomenal growth of the CSE program at ASU during that period. He is currently the Associate Director for Academic and Student Affairs for the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at ASU, overseeing the School’s academic operations of more than 11,000 students. He is a founding member and Co-Director of the ASU-Mayo Center for Innovative Imaging. He is also a Graduate Faculty with chairing right in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Data Science programs. 

He actively works on computer vision & pattern recognition, multimedia, image/video processing, assistive technologies for the visually impaired, human-computer interaction, and statistical methods in visual computing. In these recent years, he has been collaborating with researchers from Mayo Clinic and Banner Alzheimer’s Institute on medical imaging applications in which deep learning is providing promising solutions to may long-standing problems.
