Diabelli 200  – Music and the Mind

We’re inviting you to “Diabelli 200”! Celebrating the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations, this innovative collaboration between composer Anthony Brandt, neuro-engineer Dr. Pepe Contreras-Vidal, and a team of talented artists will explore the fascinating relationship between music and the brain.

Featuring a mesmerizing performance by Vivalda Ndula, J.e. Hernandez, Tazeen Zahida, and NobleMotion Dance’s Molly Turner, Yvonne Chen, Tyler Martin, Maiko Sasaki, Craig Hauschildt, Jacob Schafer, and Max Geissler, “Diabelli 200” presents the premiere of Brandt’s chamber work, accompanied by stunning projections by composer Badie Khaleghian.

Through this unique collaboration, the performance will delve into the neural synchrony between performers and changes in brain activity, revealing new insights into the transformative power of music. Drawing inspiration from Diabelli’s waltz and Beethoven’s approach to the variations, Brandt’s original compositions promise to be a one-of-a-kind musical journey.
