PROFILE

Dr. Jiming Bao is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. He graduated from Zhejiang University with B.S. and M.S. in Physics in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Physics in 2003 from the University of Michigan under Roberto Merlin; he then did post-doctoral research in Federico Capasso’s group at Harvard University before joining the University of Houston in 2008 as an assistant professor. His research is focused on fundamental properties and applications of nanomaterials and nanophotonics. He is a Fellow of American Physical Society (APS) and the Optical Society of America (OSA).
