BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Enrique Roche did his studies in Biochemistry at University of Valencia, Spain (1977–1982). He obtained his PhD degree at University of Valencia in 1988, working in the field of “intracellular protein degradation”. He has been working for 8 years in the laboratory of Dr. Marc Prentki in New Jersey (USA), Geneva (Switzerland) and Montreal (Canada). He performed studies on beta-cell function, gene modulation and nutrient interactions in the diabetic pathology. He joined UMH in 1996 developing several projects related to Nutrition and Health (metabolic syndrome) and Sports Nutrition (recovery) that are still active today. He has published 147 scientific articles and he is editor of 34 books. He has been principal investigator of 16 projects, supervised 12 doctoral thesis and founder member of a technology-based company.
