DARPA visit on Friday, March 10th, 2023

Exciting news! The UH Noninvasive Brain Machine Interface Systems Lab recently hosted a visit from DARPA, a government agency focused on investing in breakthrough technologies for national security. The visit included Kelly Waud, Joeanna Arthur, Ph.D. (DARPA BTO), Anna Skinner, PhD, and Andrew Nichols, Ph.D., and we had the pleasure of discussing our art-science research and the deployment of EEG hyperscanning methods in social neuroscience and human performance R&D. We are honored to have had the opportunity to share our work with such esteemed individuals and look forward to future collaborations.

For those who may not be familiar with DARPA, it has a sixty-year history of transforming revolutionary concepts into practical capabilities, with a focus on transformational change instead of incremental advances. DARPA works within an innovation ecosystem that includes academic, corporate, and governmental partners, and its program managers come from academia, industry, and government agencies for limited stints, generally three to five years. We are grateful for the support and inspiration provided by DARPA and its mission, and we look forward to continued progress in our art-science research.
